The Celebrity Dating World vs Real Life
This week, Shaunna takes over the blog with a look at the world of celebrity dating…
We’re all guilty of it…checking to see who is the latest A-list celebrity to be spotted with someone. We’ve seen the two young British sweethearts (Wills & K-Midd) let their love blossom and get married. We’ve watched Kim Kardashian go through relationship after relationship and now she’s finally getting married. Even Mr Bond has now ran off and got hitched to Rachel Weisz! But- have you ever wondered what their situation what be like if they weren’t famous? If Kim Kardashian or Robert Pattinson weren’t the stars they are today, would they be able to score a date like any other non-celeb?
In reality I think they may not find it as easy as they do now. Imagine someone with the looks and body of Kim K on a dating site….well you don’t need to imagine as many dating sites do have girls like this. Pretty girls on dating sites sometimes come under scrutiny for not being “real” when in fact they are and all they want to do is find someone with the same interests as them.
Take the most wanted man in the world, Robert Pattinson. The vampire who quite frankly could take a bite of my neck any day! The man who has most of the female population falling at his feet. But would he have the same response if he wasn’t famous? Probably not- if we saw him walking down the street most of us would probably walk on and a few would probably take a cheeky glance back at him. The reason why? If I saw him on a dating site, I would get the opportunity to read his member profile and see what he has written about himself and get to see if he has the same interests as me. You don’t need to have the face and body of a Greek God to bag yourself a date on one of our dating sites, as words speak a lot louder in the virtual world.
We fall in “love” or lust with celebrities when in fact we love who they play in the films not the real them, and the same could go for the real world. Sometimes we set our sights on someone due to their looks when in fact it’s their personality that is the real catch. That’s why online dating is amazing. We have some great niche sites so members can easily find someone who has similar passions, from members who are into vampires or someone who is an animal lover- I can find just about every type of person on one of our dating sites.
So the moral is… celebrities are normal people just like us and have many dating faux pas. You never know- the next time you log on to one of our sites, you may just be looking at the love of your life!
