The Olympic Torch comes to Global Personals!
We’re a patriotic bunch here at Global Personals, so this has been a great few months for us!
First, there was the opportunity to come up with some right Royal campaigns in honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and now here we are with the Olympic Relay making its way through central Windsor, right outside our office! As you can imagine, there has been much excitement afoot…
After setting off from Henley in the trusty hands of Sir Steve Redgrave this morning, the torch made its way through Slough with chef Heston Blumenthal, before heading to Windsor for a date with none another than Queen Elizabeth herself.
So, as the carefully selected torch bearers were on their way, the Global Personals office began to disperse as a number of Globalites filtered outside to get a closer look at the procession. The sun peeked through briefly but as the torch arrived on to Windsor high street, the British summertime drizzle reared its ugly head. However, even this was not enough to dampen spirits, with crowds still cheering and waving flags as the torches kissed (it was quite the romantic occasion!).
After greeting us, the procession made their way up the hill to Windsor Castle to meet the Queen, as we returned to our desks. A lovely afternoon all round!
